Overview:
We are seeking a Principal Engineer to lead R&D initiatives for commercial refrigeration equipment, focusing on thermodynamics and airflow optimization. This hands-on role involves designing, prototyping, and analyzing systems to drive energy efficiency and product performance. You will work closely with simulation teams, labs, Product Management, and Operations, while also mentoring junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead R&D for refrigeration systems, improving thermodynamic and airflow efficiency.
- Develop and document design guidelines across product families.
- Design, prototype, and test products, applying a physics-based approach.
- Analyze CFD simulation data and integrate insights into designs.
- Ensure compliance with evolving DOE regulations.
- Collaborate across teams to support streamlined project execution.
- Guide advanced development and feasibility prototyping.
- Mentor technicians and junior engineers.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 10 years in thermal design/testing (or 7 with Master’s).
- 3 years analyzing airflow and thermodynamic simulations.
- 5 years leading engineering development projects.
- 5 years designing refrigeration, HVAC, or similar systems.
