Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical operations and maintenance, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in various environments. This role requires proficiency in using both hand and power tools, as well as experience with heavy equipment operation. The Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining equipment to ensure optimal performance.
The position involves the installation of fiber optic cable, working in bucket trucks, climbing poles, operating plows/trencher/bore machine and other duties as assigned. Service Drop Technician’s core responsibility is to recognize, assess and control potentially hazardous situations in addition to maintaining the safety of the crew by giving direction regarding procedures, road safety and general oversight.
Duties
- Placement of aerial and underground fiber optic cable to customer premise
- Installation of new hardware
- Installation of Customer Premises Equipment
- Ability to work in all weather conditions, at heights and in confined spaces
- Overnight travel required
- Material management and job planning
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency in all tasks.
- Utilize bucket trucks for various field service operations, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Build and assemble equipment as necessary, following technical specifications and guidelines.
- Use hand tools and power tools effectively to complete repairs and installations.
- Document all service activities accurately in compliance with company standards.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining high-quality standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience in heavy equipment operation or related fields is preferred.
- Proficiency in electrical systems, including the ability to read schematics.
- Strong skills in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to operate bucket trucks safely for field service work is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and clients.
- A valid driver's license is required for travel between job sites.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.42 - $24.03 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
