Summary :
Aquila's Assistant Fitness Manager assists the Health & Fitness Program Manager in a wide range of average to difficult administrative, programming and technical activities. This individual will assist in coordinating and directing of operations and personnel at a single location so as to ensure efficient and profitable operations for Aquila.
Pay :
The pay for this position is $51,000 annually (hourly position), which is $24.52 / hour, plus personal training commissions in addition to the base hourly rate.
Work Hours :
The work hours are Monday-Friday, 8 hour shifts each day. Candidates will need to be able to work alternating shifts of 6 am to 2 pm, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Responsibilities :
As an Assistant Health and Fitness Manager, your responsibilities will include :
Assist in planning and evaluating of Health & Fitness Center’s operationsTeach group fitness classes and conduct personal fitness training sessions with clientsAssist in preparation of reports and records for the managementAssist in evaluation of current procedures, practices, and precedents for accomplishing Health & Fitness Center’s activities and functionsDevelop relationships with members, clients and key clients to promote goodwill and generate new businessAct as an emergency substitute in case club employees call out sick, or do not show up for workAssume interim Health & Fitness Manager duties if Health & Fitness Program Manager is absent or sickAssist in personnel coaching, stimulate creativity and lead through good exampleImplement ACSM programming guidelines, identify high risk clients and special populations, conduct fitness assessments, exercise prescription and group exercise classesImplement & design wellness and fitness programs with Health & Fitness Program Manager; assist in worksite health promotion programs delivery (where applicable), health fairs and internal & external programming promotional activities including seminars, member incentive and retention programsSupervise fitness floor, educate members concerning safe exercise techniquesAssist members in spotting and equipment usageExplain and demonstrate all equipmentEnsure the maintenance, cleanliness and safety of all equipmentAdhere to departmental and club policies and proceduresAdhere to client’s policies and proceduresAttend staff meetingsQualifications required :
B.S. in Exercise Physiology or in related health / fitness field, OR Active NCCA accredited fitness certification (ACE, NASM, AFAA, ACSM or NSCA) - can be obtained within 90 days of hireActive CPR certification0-1 year experience in supervising adults during exercisesMust be a U.S. Citizen due to this location being a federal agency that requires citizenship as part of its security clearanceAquila is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.
