Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Groundskeeper/Building Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for maintaining beautiful landscapes and ensuring that outdoor spaces are clean, safe, and inviting. This role involves a variety of tasks related to landscape maintenance, lawn care, and general groundskeeping duties. Responsibilities
- Perform regular lawn care activities including mowing, trimming, and edging to maintain healthy grass and landscapes.
- Perform regular snow removal activities on company property when necessary, including shoveling, plowing and placing ice melt as needed.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for various landscaping tasks.
- Maintain flower beds, gardens, and other planted areas by watering, fertilizing, and weeding as necessary.
- Irrigate grounds as needed to ensure optimal plant health and appearance.
- Assist in the installation of new plants, trees, and shrubs as part of landscape enhancement projects.
- Clear debris from walkways, parking lots, and other areas to maintain a clean environment.
- Monitor the condition of grounds equipment and report any maintenance needs promptly.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve landscaping goals and uphold safety standards.
- Performing general building maintenance needs as necessary, including trash removal, minor building repairs and daily tasks to maintain the overall operations of the business.
Requirements
- Proven experience in groundskeeping or landscape maintenance is preferred.
- Familiarity with hand tools (e.g., shovels, rakes) and power tools (e.g., lawnmowers, trimmers).
- Strong understanding of lawn care practices including irrigation techniques.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions for extended periods.
- Attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in all tasks performed.
- Good physical stamina; ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labor as required.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment.
