Our Direct Client has a new Insurance Analyst job. As an Insurance Analyst you will work under the general direction of the Chief Financial Officer the Insurance Analyst (IA) will be responsible for coordinating various components of Clients Corporate Insurance Program. The IA will be responsible for administering the company's complex insurance portfolio, with a particular focus on marine insurance, claims management, and renewal processes. The IA also administers insurance claims from initial reporting through resolution and provides ongoing support to various departments on insurance-related matters.
Responsibilities
- Insurance program administration
Coordinate the pre-renewal and binding processes for Client’s marine, casualty, property, workers compensation and other corporate insurance programs.
Act as the primary liaison with insurance brokers, receiving and reviewing renewal requests, providing updated risk information, and overseeing submission preparation to underwriters.Review policy documentation and premium billings, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payments.Insurance renewal coordinationFor each line of coverage, complete tasks such as :
Reviewing existing policies and assessing coverage requirements.
Gathering and updating necessary information from relevant departments.
Preparing submissions and negotiating terms, pricing, and conditions with brokers.Comparing coverage options and finalizing bind orders.Managing premium payments.Monitor the renewal process from initial request to policy binding and documentation review.Claims management administrationReceive and report bodily injury and property damage claims.
Track insurance claims from initial notification to final settlement, including crew injury and medical claims.Assist underwriters and brokers to ensure that insurance claims are efficiently managed.Review loss records and maintain accurate claims data.Collateral dutiesSupport the legal department in reviewing contracts to ensure insurance requirements for vendors and customers are met.
Assist with the coordination of pre-embarkment physicals for Company and client vessel staff.Manage insurance certificate program for outgoing and incoming certificates.Attend meetings with brokers and underwriters in both London and New York.Manage surety portfolio including evaluating surety requirements, coordinating with brokers to obtain the required sureties, monitoring compliance to minimize risks and managing any claims related to any sureties.Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Insurance, Marine Business Administration, Business, Finance, or equivalentThree to five years of business, finance, marine or risk experienceStrong analytical skills to assess and manage various components of corporate insurance programs.Attention to detail to ensure accurate assessment and understanding of information obtained.Availability for occasionalEffective communication skills to work with internal and external personnel and present recommendations .
