Production Manager

Aquinas Consulting is currently looking to fill a Sr. Manufacturing Team Lead at a growing Aerospace manufacturer in CT. This on site, DIRECT hire job is available with one of our key customers. In this role, you will be responsible for providing guidance and leadership in hands-on manufacturing in the machining department. Additional duties will be to provide support to assure timely product flow of processed parts to ensure shipment of product as well as maintaining quality.

Job Duties:

• Oversee and monitor production of machinists and related production personnel.
• Ensure proper flow of parts through the production process.
• Provide leadership to production personnel.
• Ensure production lead times are sufficient to complete jobs in a timely fashion.
• Interact with Quality department to ensure customer quality requirements are met.
• Interact with Supply Chain teams to ensure parts are ready as needed.
• Oversee set up and preparation of machinery for new runs including checking tooling and that operators understand parts requirements.
• Resolve production challenges.

• We are seeking an experienced machine shop lead – the kind of person that can see a problem coming and knows what to do to avoid it.
• This individual will be expected to get to learn each area very well, including production, process, workflow and customers’ expectations.
• Must be self-driven and motivated to keep learning.
• This person will become the “go to” person that can be counted on to know each and every area.
• The ideal candidate will have a background in tool making and tool design and understand the operation of numerous machine tools.
• Must have experience in metal cutting and metal forming.
• Ability to guide and train junior level production team members and share knowledge.
• Passion for team collaboration

Qualifications:

• 15-20 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment or any combination of experience, education, and training which would provide the level of knowledge, skill and ability to the satisfactory of management.
• Leadership skills to effectively manage the workforce and ability to communicate with all levels of employees to assure understanding of work assignments.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and department oversight
• Understanding blueprints and schematics
