Aquinas Consulting is seeking an IT Project Manager in the Hartford area to support a critical project within the life/annuities insurance industry. This is a long-term contract role with potential to convert fulltime that requires this person to work a hybrid work schedule (remote and on site at least 3 days a week). In this role, you will work within the PMO alongside a team of other Project Managers implementing a large policy admin system conversion.
Project Manager job responsibilities:
- Ensure projects are designed to deliver the value that the customer expects.
- Consult with customer in planning projects, advising of cost-effective directions, influencing their decisions, managing expectations, enduring quality and negotiating their commitment to the project plans, priorities and budgets.
- Participate in making decisions regarding project priorities, project team staffing and assignments, and project budget.
- Prepares presentations and presents project status to project stakeholders
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Project Manager job qualifications:
- College degree or equivalent work experience.
- 5 years professional Project Management experience
- Demonstrated experience with Project Mgmt methodology & tools and ability to deliver complex solutions.
- Insurance and financial services product knowledge (life and annuities)
- Experience managing an Insurance Policy Administration system-related project
- Excellent communication skills
- Self-starter, ability to ask the right questions, take initiative to solve problems, solutions oriented, critical thinker
- Ability to navigate working with different areas of the organization.
