Assistant Estimator / Project Manager
Job Summary
The Assistant Estimator / Project Manager will support the Lead Estimator in reviewing bid invites, creating estimates, and submitting proposals. They will support the Project Manager in preparing submittals, entering material orders, and following up on material needs for the jobsite. This is a full-time, salaried position.
Primary Functions
Estimating
- Review bid invites
- Manage bid schedule
- Assist in material take offs
- Procure manufacturer pricing
- Assist in creating estimates
- Assist in submitting proposals
- Follow up on proposals
Project Management
- Create submittal packages
- Assist in submittal review & approval
- Assist in shop drawing approval process
- Assist in material order entry
- Assist in shipping coordination
- Assist in warranty documentation
Requirements
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Associate’s degree or Bachelor's degree preferred with focus in business, technical, or construction management areas. Experience in a construction-related industry is preferred.
- Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate multiple projects. Can learn to read and understand construction specifications and blueprints.
- Demonstrate competency in MS Word and Excel.
- Ability to effectively present information. Ability to respond efficiently to time-sensitive issues.
- Develop and maintain good business relationships with material suppliers.
- Ensure all projects and paperwork are completed in a professional, qualified, appropriate, timely, and cost-effective manner.
