What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Engineer 1 position at ARA Brand?
Successful candidates will have a chance to support research in areas of:
Electromechanical systems, less-than-lethal systems, human injury, acoustics, chemical/biological defense, specialized materials development, thermal protection systems, blast effects, ballistic penetration/fragmentation, or test planning and execution
What you’ll do as a Senior Engineer:
- Serve as a technical resource for other engineers and scientists in your field of expertise
- Develop control software for high power RF control systems, the communications interface to an operator control units (OCU), and monitoring/testing software
- As needed, act as a project manager or technical lead in systems engineering, chembio defense, wearable sensors, or electromechanical hardware development
- Prepare oral and written reports as necessary
- Travel or extended work hours may be required
Position Requirements
- Requires B.S. 8 years, M.S. 6 years, or Ph.D. 3 (or equivalent)
- Work onsite in Littleton, CO
- US Citizen; able to get a security clearance
Additional Skill Preferences
- Past experience performing research and development of technologies for National Defense applications
- Experience with hardware & software integration, feedback and control systems, or automated test measurement systems
- Broad technical engineering/science capabilities
- Innovative, can-do mindset bringing new ideas to the table
- Ability to work well within a team and independently, good verbal communications skills
- Experience leading technical teams, including subcontractors and consultants
- Project management experience to include budgeting, scheduling, risk mitigation, and reporting
- Familiarity with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
