The Mission Concepts & Capabilities (MCC) division of Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is seeking a Senior Emerging Technologies Support with experience in Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) detection, tracking, identification (DTI), and mitigation. Successful applicants will support the Office of the Secretary of Defense in the National Capital Region on-site. This role requires candidates with experience performing a variety of program functions, including :
- Coordinate critical S&T international collaboration initiatives for counter small UAS (C-sUAS) detection, tracking, identification (DTI), and mitigation technologies. Engagements may include :
- Active engagement of the USD(R&E) sponsored US-Israel Operational Technology Working Group by collaborating on S&T US-Israel technologies and providing quarterly updates to the R&E Undersecretary and the Israeli Director of Defense Research and Development.
- Lead the US-UK C-UAS Workgroup to enable collaboration on a joint US-UK counter-swarming capability.
- Plan and execute a US-Singapore technology collaboration event with the Irregular Warfare Technology Support Directorate (IWTSD) focused on the artificial intelligence integration of electro-optical / infrared detection devices.
- Conduct analytical studies and technology explorations in support of the Joint Staff and Combatant Commanders to identify new and innovative passive approaches to enhance survivability from the employment of adversary UAS against US friendly forces and critical assets. Identify promising S&T technologies to rapidly transition to a prototype capability.
- Expand current S&T countering small-UAS support efforts to include the countering of Unmanned Surface Vessels (USV), Unmanned Underwater Vessels (UUV), and Unmanned Ground Systems (UGS). Provide R&E support of the multi-domain unmanned systems portfolio during Joint Staff capability portfolio management reviews (CPMR).
