Job Summary:

The Safety Manager will manage the organization’s safety and security programs.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Collaborates with management to develop, prepare, and implement safety and security policies and procedures

· Work with management on all safety and DOT issues

· Inspire a culture of safety as key to company’s corporate values and future success

· Coordinates the safety programs to promote and ensure a safe working environment.

· Educate and train all staff members on safety standards and expectations

· Evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs

· Review current safety training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates

· Submit recommendations for improvements and additions to the safety management program to include:

- Emergency preparedness

- Accident prevention

- General safety

- Risk management

· Gather, review, and maintain copies of subcontractor/vendor safety programs. Ensure those programs meet company’s, OSHA, and owner requirements

· Document and maintain records for all safety meetings

· Monitor and record all DOT Inspections

· Maintain OSHA logs

· Regularly inspect and evaluate the project site, equipment, and processes for compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations

· Accompany injured employees to treatment and medical evaluation. Ensure all safety and return-to-work protocols are followed

· Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems

· Monitor and renew truck, equipment, and trailer licensing

· Ensure truck, equipment, and trailers DOT compliance

· Shares environmental safety information with appropriate levels in the organization

· Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and vehicles, ensuring that all are working properly

· Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules to include jobsite safety posters

· Ensure annual building inspections are performed and documented

· Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Spanish language communication (Required)

· Excellent management and supervisory skills

· Extensive knowledge of security protocols and emergency preparedness

· Extensive knowledge of company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to conduct training

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in related field.

· Certified Safety Professional (Preferred)

· At least three years of safety (Required)

· Advanced training or certification in safety and security (Preferred)

· Thorough knowledge of and experience with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other federal and state standards and regulations. (Required)

Physical Requirements:

· Stand, walk and sit; use hands to maneuver or feel objects, tools, or controls.

· Reach with hands and arms; be able to talk and to hear.

· See well, either naturally or with correction.

· Hear well, either naturally or with correction.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $89,000.00 per year
