Job Description
The Corrections Oversight Worker plays a critical role in ensuring that inmates prepare meals and food items according to production plans. This role involves training workers on methods of performing duties, assigning and coordinating work to optimize operations, and maintaining the sanitation of the facility while prioritizing personal safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to preparation and production guidelines as outlined by Aramark standards, reviewing and approving production and temperature logs.
- Supervise inmates in food preparation and tray assembly.
- E nsure timely and efficient meal service, adhering to all Aramark guidelines.
- Participate in meal preparation and serving.
- Distribute recipes and direct inmates in using Aramark recipes, training them on proper cooking procedures.
- Verify accurate daily population counts and review with staff.
- Ensure security policies and procedures are upheld, storing areas locked at all times.
- Maintain order, returning kitchen tools and equipment to designated secure areas, securing keys.
- Develop work procedures, create schedules, and ensure cooks, inmates, and/or food service workers adhere to assigned tasks.
- Assist in conducting inventory, receiving, and storing food and related items, requisitioning orders as needed.
- Contribute to the preparation and storage of meals and food items, adhering to the Company's Standard of Operation for food handling and storage, following HACCP policies and procedures.

Requirements:
- Must be over 18 years of age.
- Minimum one year of food prep or related experience preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience is beneficial.
- Prior experience interacting with inmates is advantageous.
- Ability to motivate and supervise inmates and/or team members to achieve quality and quantity of food production in a correctional environment.
- Must obtain a food safety certification.
- Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and tact.
- Must follow basic safety procedures and policies.
- Must qualify for and maintain correctional facility security clearance.
This role demands physical exertion, including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended walking, and standing. Uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.
