What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Coordinator position at Aramark?
The Environmental Coordinator role is a seasonal opportunity to assist the General Manager in managing the Environmental Management System (EMS) at Glacier Bay Lodge, adhering to the ISO 14001:2004 Standard.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and document activities in waste prevention and reduction, recycling, energy conservation and air quality to adapt to standards in compliance with the EMS standards.
- Research and update company, federal and state environmental regulations and policies related to the work and assist in applying them to Glacier Bay Lodge operations within Glacier Bay National Park as needed.
- Conduct weekly inspections of recycling areas and follow up of corrective action items documenting strengths and weaknesses as appropriate and reports results to General Manager and DM.
- Assist General Manager with training programs and EMS and documentation as needed.
- Assist the General Manager with coordination, implementation, and documentation of environmental and greening programs within different departments.
Requirements
- Prior administrative experience preferred.
- A solid understanding of Microsoft applications, including but not limited to: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Frequent performance of repetitive motions with hands and/or arms.
- College course work or related experience in environmental studies recommended.
