Job Description
The Lead Chef is responsible for overseeing the preparation and presentation of food in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This involves ensuring that all food safety and sanitation procedures are followed, as well as supervising staff and delegating tasks to meet production goals.
Key responsibilities include:
- Scheduling and assigning daily work activities to staff
- Training and guiding staff on job duties, food safety and sanitation procedures, and cooking methods
- Cooking and preparing food following standardized recipes and production guidelines
- Safely using all food utensils and equipment, including knives and ovens
- Maintaining excellent customer service with a positive attitude towards guests and colleagues
In addition to these key responsibilities, the successful candidate will have experience as a cook or related role, previous supervisor experience, and the ability to work independently with limited supervision. Food safety certification is also required.
