This Lead Dispatcher Specialist role oversees the scheduling and operation of daily shuttle runs. To excel in this position, one must have strong multitasking skills, previous experience in a transportation-related dispatch office, and excellent communication and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Covering daily as well as special transportation events.
- Communicating needs within this context.
- Directing and coordinating field transportation operations as directed by the Dispatch Assistant Manager or as needed.
- Responding appropriately to needs communicated via radio and land-lines.
- Maximizing the productivity of the shuttle at all times with the Transportation Manager.
- Training new hires on the POS system, overall safety, and job responsibilities.
- Monitoring and documenting departmental personnel regarding processes and procedures involving radio calls, proper driver check-in and check-out/punctuality procedures, proper reporting procedures, and notification of random and reasonable suspicion drug/alcohol test procedures.
- Assigning and dispatching appropriate vehicle equipment per event.
- Working closely with all other transportation departments to ensure efficient and timely service for guests.
- Being the first point of contact for emergencies.
- Acting as a communication hub for management and staff during any emergencies. Data entry is required, including but not limited to, all ridership data.
- Responsible for general knowledge of corporate environmental policies and procedures and how they relate to their job functions.
- Ensuring that corporate policies and procedures are posted on bulletin boards.
- Employee responsible for knowing the environmental aspects and associated impacts of their job position.
- Employee will have no less than one performance review per season, including an evaluation of performance standards as they relate to work instructions addressing their department's environmental aspects.
- Employee will be aware of environmental objectives and targets within their department and how these objectives and targets affect their job performance.
- Other duties as assigned.
