About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Chef who can lead our culinary team in delivering high-quality food and excellent customer service. You will work closely with our Executive Chef to develop and implement menus, train staff, and maintain high standards of kitchen safety and sanitation. Your expertise in managing kitchen personnel and supervising related activities will be essential in achieving our goals. Responsibilities
- Train and manage kitchen personnel to achieve exceptional performance
- Supervise and coordinate all related culinary activities to meet guest expectations
- Estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase food to maintain quality and freshness
- Develop and standardize recipes to ensure consistent quality and presentation
- Establish presentation technique and quality standards, and plan and price menus to meet business objectives
- Ensure proper equipment operation/maintenance and maintain high standards of kitchen safety and sanitation
- Oversee special catering events and provide culinary instruction and demonstrations as needed
Requirements
- 2-3 years of experience in a related position
- 2-3 years of post-high school education or equivalent experience
- Culinary degree preferred
- Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the food profession
- Experiential knowledge of management of people and/or problems
- Prior experience working with others who speak English as a second language
- Excellent oral, reading, and written communication skills
