The Vice President of Supply Chain is responsible for leading and overseeing the end-to-end supply chain operations, with a strong focus on inventory replenishment strategies, demand planning, logistics, procurement, and supplier management. The role involves driving operational efficiency, managing a team of supply chain professionals, and ensuring that the company's products are consistently available to meet customer demand while optimizing costs and maintaining high service levels. This senior leadership position will play a crucial role in developing and executing strategic supply chain initiatives to support business growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership :
- Develop and execute the overall supply chain strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Lead the replenishment and inventory management processes, focusing on optimizing stock levels, reducing excess inventory, and improving inventory turnover.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness of the supply chain function.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, marketing, production, finance, etc.) to ensure integrated and aligned operational strategies.
Replenishment & Inventory Management :
Oversee the development and implementation of replenishment strategies based on demand forecasting, historical sales data, and market trends.Manage inventory levels to ensure timely product availability while minimizing carrying costs.Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure supply chain performance, focusing on replenishment accuracy, stock-outs, and lead times.Ensure inventory strategies are aligned with sales plans and market demands, making adjustments as necessary to avoid shortages or overstock situations.Supplier & Vendor Relations :
Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors, ensuring reliable supply of goods and services at competitive pricing.Negotiate and manage supplier contracts, ensuring favorable terms, consistent product quality, and on-time deliveries.Address any supply chain disruptions, collaborating with suppliers to resolve issues and minimize impact on business operations.Team Leadership and Development :
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing supply chain team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.Provide guidance on best practices for replenishment, inventory optimization, and supply chain processes.Ensure team members have access to appropriate tools, training, and resources to succeed.Operational Excellence :
Optimize the use of technology and data analytics in replenishment and supply chain processes, leveraging tools like Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and supply chain management systems.Ensure smooth coordination between warehousing, distribution, and replenishment teams to streamline operations.Monitor industry trends and competitor practices to adopt best-in-class supply chain strategies and technologies.Budgeting and Cost Control :
Develop and manage the supply chain budget, ensuring alignment with corporate financial goals and effective cost management.Identify opportunities for cost savings while maintaining high-quality standards and operational efficiency.Risk Management and Compliance :
Identify supply chain risks, including disruptions due to global events, and develop mitigation strategies.Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies.Qualifications / Skills
QUALIFICATIONS : Education :
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).Experience :
Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.Proven track record in leading supply chain operations, with expertise in inventory replenishment, demand planning, and procurement.Experience with advanced supply chain technology platforms (e.g., ERP systems, demand planning software).Strong understanding of financial metrics and cost management in supply chain operations.Skills & Competencies :
Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and act decisively.Excellent communication and negotiation skills.Deep knowledge of supply chain best practices and emerging trends.Ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects and deliver results under tight deadlines.Working Conditions :
