Description
Under the supervision of the registered nurse, assist in care and service to the patient in the operating room. Assist in preparing and maintaining sterile and un-sterile supplies and equipment.
Essential Functions
Assist in the planning and preparation for intra operative nursing care of patient
Assist in providing optimum assurance of safe environment
Assist in maintaining a high degree of efficiency of instruments, supplies and equipment by proper cleaning, care, utilization and sterilization as directed
Maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, co-workers, physicians and all other personnel
Maintain professional growth
Perform duties of the scrub nurse as assigned
May be delegated responsibility or given special assignments by the nurse manager or registered nurse
Perform other related duties as directed for the efficient operation of the Surgery Center
Requirements
Job Specifications
Typically has the following skills or abilities:
Minimum of one year experience in an operating room with experience in a variety of surgical procedures
Current BLS certification
Interpersonal skills
Able to withstand long and strenuous periods of work which include extensive walking, standing, and varied body motions
Able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds without assistance
Preferred Skills
Certification by the American Association of Surgical Technologists
Graduate of a recognized surgical technologist program

The compensation range for the role is listed below. Applicable salary ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. As a part of the compensation package, this role may include eligible bonuses and commissions.
