Inspector/Packer and Quality Control Substitute

2nd shift hours are 1:50pm to 10:05pm

Aran USA is a manufacturer of multi-layer plastic bags for farmers and fruit processors. Our bags enable the efficient packaging and aseptic storage of farmed products such as tomatoes, mangoes, bananas, etc. We produce our bags in Greer, SC and sell them throughout the Americas - from Chile to Canada. We are looking for Inspector/Packers to join our bag making lines. Target candidates will have similar experience in a manufacturing environment or be motivated to learn. You will be trained by skilled shift trainers as well as Quality Assurance.

Inspector/Packer Position Description

• Reports to: Shift Lead
• Authority and responsibility:

Quality: The folder is responsible for examining the product being packaged

• Package inspection – verify that the folding and packaging are done correctly and without problems closing the boxes.

Professionalism:

• Responsible for fulfilling machine speed standards.
• Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of the machine and its surroundings.
• Arranging boxes before folding the bags into them – arranging the packaging bag, adhesion of labels, etc.
• Replacing boxes during the shift when they are full.
• Must take direction from the Machine Operator and be respectful to other employees.
• Must learn to pack on all machines and keep up with machine speeds.
• Must work the machine the Operator tells you to. It is the Machine Operator's decision based on experience and what is best for the company.

Regular machine work:

• Maintaining cleanliness in the machines and surrounding area.
• Bi-weekly cleaning of the machines (inside and out) with other team members
• Regular assistance with: Making and arranging boxes for work, usage instructions, and labels.
• Visual examination of the bags on a regular basis throughout work.
• Check to make sure there is no air in the bag.
• Position requirements:
• Experience working in industry / production floor – an advantage
• Must be able to stand the entire shift
• Attention to detail is extremely important
• Overtime needed occasionally or temporary need on a different shift
• Inspector/Packer:
• Start with $17.50 per hour $1.00 shift premium
• Production team monthly bonus typically 3 – 6% depending on team performance

Quality Control Substitute Responsibilities:

• Perform all quality control tests/inspections according to the specified SOP
• Verification of work order cards at the beginning of each job
• Create carton labels for each job according to the work order card
• Handle quality issues during test failures as well as defects found on the production line
• Control and organize raw material labels for submission to warehouse personnel when needed
• Measure and update the remaining amount of raw material used to produce the bag after completion of the work order
• Label defective material
• Input all testing data and job remarks into software program
