What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping & Receiving Clerk (Day Shift) position at Arandell?
Responsible for all plant receiving, including roll stock, press products (barrels, ink totes, chemical containers), and other items. Duties include distributing received goods to designated warehouse locations and specific departments, managing inventory control through accurate paperwork and documentation, and maintaining the physical organization and functionality of warehouse areas. This role also involves relieving inventory and delivering products to work-in-process, ensuring proper documentation and reporting any inventory discrepancies.
WHAT YOU’LL DO ON THE A-TEAM:
- Load and unload trailers upon arrival.
- Receive items such as UPS, Federal Express, RPS, and other courier items. Deliver to the appropriate department.
- Move material received to the designated storage area or warehouse location. Complete all receivers or inventory logs and notify the specific department head of its arrival.
- Deliver samples of customer furnished inserts, order forms and other printed product to the designated CSR.
- Maintain inventory of furnished printed materials; material between press and bindery, plus Xerox paper.
- Immediately upon arrival, place all flammable material in the explosion room.
- Check all rolls for obvious damage; detail damage on the roll manifest and report to purchasing.
- Verify purchased incoming material against the purchase order; stamp and sign the receiving copy for receipt verification note warehouse location, and forward to purchasing.
- Segregate or identify rejected material and maintain in inventory until final disposition is obtained.
- Deliver roll stock to press in accordance with the stock release from work-in-process procedure.
- Maintain storage and warehouse areas under custody for safety in an orderly manner.
- Upon approval, identify and mark printed sigs or product to be scrapped as waste for recycling.
- As requested, remove signatures from inventory for samples, dummies or handbounds and deliver to the appropriate department.
- Verify the counts on oversigs delivered to the racks, returned from the bindery or returned to the bindery.
- Segregate roll stubs, rejected or scrapped rolls, weigh, record and load on trailers.
- In an emergency, locate stock in warehouse for shortage while on press following guidelines and instructions from purchasing.
- Unload miscellaneous skids and accept packages after normal hours and weekends.
- Schedule shipping personnel in the outbound shipping and customer warehousing functions.
- Receive, record and stage mail for shipment from bindery.
- Prepare, record and bill all UPS, Federal Express, and air freight shipments.
- Load mail, LTL, TL and company truck shipments.
- Prepare and record outbound product received from bindery and press for shipping.
- Responsible for the safe and proper operation of company equipment in accordance with all safety rules and regulations.
- Maintain a cooperative and positive attitude toward customers, employees, and visitors.
- Performs all special duties assigned by management and supervision.
- Performs all duties safely and in accordance with all safety rules and requirements.
- Maintains a positive customer relations approach towards visitors, customers, and employees.
- Maintains a high level of confidentiality on all matters involving Arandell.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or Shipping and Receiving preferred.
- Must be able to distinguish different types of stock and identify grades using a Grade Equivalency or Competitive Grade Finder chart.
- Must have good driving skills and the ability to drive a fork and clamp truck into extremely tight spaces.
- One year experience in job costing, billing or equivalent accounting functions preferred.
- Strong written and communication skills
- Requires computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent

Range: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour (DOE)
Salary : $18 - $21
