What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mosquito Sprayer/Driver position at ARANSAS COUNTY?
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Responsible for driving County-owned vehicles safely, performing shopwork, maintaining ground equipment, and performing night sprays to control/eliminate mosquitos.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
1. Reports to: Mosquito Control Foreman.
2. Directs: This is a non-supervisory position.
3. Other: Has contact with county employees and the general public.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/EXAMPLES OF WORK
Drive assigned spray routes;
Operate sprayer;
Perform routine and preventive maintenance on equipment, motors, and pumps;
Use high pressure wash to remove chemical residue from equipment;
Perform such other related duties as may be assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of: mosquito, fire ant, and pest control procedures and techniques; and area geography.
Skills/Ability to: safely handle hazardous chemicals; establish and maintain effective working relationships with other county employees and the general public; tolerate outside working conditions including exposure to adverse weather conditions; and maintain appropriate necessary certifications, possess valid Texas driver's license applicable to job responsibilities and good driving record.
ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
High school graduation, or its equivalent; or sufficient education to read and write, plus at least one year of related experience;
or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED
Appropriate Texas driver's license.
