The Revenue Analyst plays a key analytical role in helping to maximize the revenue of all revenue producing products offered at Arapahoe Basin, reporting to the Director of Revenue Management. This role provides analytics to support pricing and inventory recommendations for winter and summer products including lift tickets, local season passes, lessons and rentals.
The successful Revenue Analyst will use available data and reporting tools to generate analytical models designed to optimize pricing plans that drive positive financial results for the enterprise. This role coordinates with departments within Arapahoe Basin as well as within the Alterra Shared Services Revenue Management network to make informed decisions based on analytics to grow revenue and increase profitability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Analyzes current and proposed pricing, yield management strategies and performance metrics to ensure that revenue and profitability targets are achieved.
- Works closely with the Director of Revenue Management and Resort senior leaders to develop, implement and analyze pricing, inventory and sales strategies for resort lift and activities products for various market segments.
- Understands the Arapahoe Basin database structure as well as the Alterra unified data platform to retrieve appropriate data to analyze and validate data between various systems.
- Maintains all current reporting, develops new reports and produces regular reports in a timely way as defined by the Revenue Management, Finance, and Marketing departments.
- Completes special analysis such as variance analysis, sensitivity analysis, performance measurement, booking trends, booking source, etc., and can retrieve the data from various database sources to perform such analyses.
- Utilize available tools and interpret sales/market and competitive data and apply to sales strategy.
- Provides critical input for development of overall strategy for multiple business units and provides targeted and timely communication of results, achievements and challenges to the stakeholders.
- Fosters a data-driven decision-making environment and shares Revenue Management insights and best practices with peers in other departments including finance, marketing, business operations, website operations, call center and resort operations.
- Uses productivity software with specific focus and expertise in spreadsheets, analytical tools and resort operating and sales systems including RTP, Aspenware, Inntopia, Power BI, etc.

Requirements
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- 1-2 years experience within an analytics focused role. Experience in the travel or ski industry preferred.
- Excellent understanding of Revenue/Yield Management Concepts.
- Advanced Excel user (pivot, graphs, formulae, VBA).
- Strong database analysis skills with the ability to understand how data is organized in multiple systems and how to retrieve appropriate data from source systems.
- Ideal candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills, attention to details, pro-active in reaching goals.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Valid Colorado Driver’s License and clean motor vehicle record desirable
- NOTE: This position must submit to and pass a criminal background check and credit check on condition of employment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
This position may be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position a minimum of 20 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office equipment on a constant basis.
- Auditory and visual acuity to operate computers, phones, mobile devices and basic office equipment on a constant basis.
- Ability to work for extended periods of time sitting, bending, reaching, and speaking on a constant basis.
