This non-exempt, non-benefited, temporary position will support the Engineering Department. Performs entry-level work related to the planning and operation of the water and sanitary sewer systems. The Engineering intern will work under the direct supervision of Engineering Manager and / or Engineering Supervisors.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities :
- Basic knowledge of civil engineering principles related to water and wastewater systems.
- Basic computer knowledge including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, ArcGIS and AutoCAD.
- Basic knowledge of ArcGIS and ability to manipulate data within ArcMap
- Basic knowledge of safety procedures and use of personal protective equipment and ability to apply safety principles. Ability to anticipate unsafe circumstances; act accordingly to prevent accidents, and promptly report accidents and hazardous conditions.
- Ability to interpret and use information from engineering reports, plans, specifications, regulations, and technical documentation.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work independently with broad direction and limited supervision.
- Ability to work effectively with supervisors, co-workers, vendors, contractors, developers, and the general public.
