The Director of Nursing is responsible for the strategic leadership of nursing services within the organization. **Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide strategic direction and leadership for the nursing department to align with the organization's mission, vision, and goals.
- Recruit, develop, and retain competent nursing staff, fostering a culture of professional growth and continuous improvement.
- Implement effective staffing models and scheduling practices to optimize resource allocation and patient care.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as accreditation standards (e.g., Joint Commission).
- Develop, implement, and monitor quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and care outcomes.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure adherence to best practices and clinical protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians, healthcare providers, and administrative staff to develop and implement patient care policies and procedures.
- Address complex patient care issues and facilitate interdisciplinary approaches to problem-solving.
- Advocate for patients and families, ensuring their needs and preferences are incorporated into care plans.
- Develop and manage the nursing budget, ensuring effective resource utilization and cost control measures.
- Analyze financial reports and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and operational efficiency.

- Facilitate professional development opportunities, including continuing education and leadership training.

- Minimum of 10 years of progressive nursing leadership experience, preferably in Assisted Living or Skilled Nursing setting.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, quality improvement processes, and patient safety standards.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team of healthcare professionals.
The Director of Nursing will typically work Assisted Living and Memory Care with occasional evening, weekend, or on-call duties as required. The role may involve exposure to stressful situations, requiring the ability to assess and manage complex clinical and operational challenges.
