Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Substitute Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and the ability to manage diverse classroom environments. As a Substitute Teacher, you will step into various classrooms, providing instruction and support to students in the absence of their regular teacher. You would be contacted to see if you are available when a teacher needs coverage. We are a K-8 school.
Responsibilities
- Deliver lesson plans provided by the regular teacher, ensuring that students remain engaged and on task.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively, utilizing behavior management techniques to create a conducive learning atmosphere.
- Assist students with their learning needs, providing support in areas such as literacy education and special education.
- Foster an inclusive environment for all students, including those with autism and other special needs.
- Supervise students during activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and any incidents that occur during class time.
Requirements
- A minimum of 60 college credit hours.
- Experience working with students in an educational setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of lesson planning and tutoring strategies to support diverse learning styles.
- A commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for all students.
