Job Title: Land Clearing Heavy Equipment Operator – CDL preferred
Location: Virginia
Job Description: Experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to assist with clearing and grubbing land for large scale sites, ensuring safety and efficiency while following project plans.
Key Responsibilities:
· Heavy Equipment Operation: Operate a variety of heavy machinery including Cat D6/D8 Dozer, KG Blade, Root Rakes, Track Hoes, and Horizontal Grinders to efficiently clear land according to project specifications.
· Machine Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance on heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Diagnose mechanical issues and coordinate repairs with maintenance personnel as needed.
· Safety Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and OSHA standards (10/30). Conduct regular safety inspections, identify hazards, and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
· Dependability and Flexibility: Demonstrate reliability by consistently meeting project deadlines and adapting to changing work environments and schedules. Willingness to stay out of town for extended periods as required by project demands.
· Team Player: Ability to work in a team environment and able to communicate effectively.
Qualifications:
· High School Diploma/GED / Technical School (Preferred).
· Class A CDL (Highly Preferred).
· Two (2) years minimum of experience (Required).
· Must have a strong and solid background and proven experience as a heavy equipment operator, with proficiency in operating KG Blades, Root Rakes, Track Hoes, and Horizontal Grinders.
· Strong commitment to safety, with knowledge of OSHA regulations and procedures (OSHA 10/30 certification preferred).
· Ability to perform routine maintenance on heavy machinery and diagnose mechanical issues.
· Dependable and capable of working in remote locations for extended periods.
· Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to various job sites.
· Must pass drug screening and maintain a drug-free work environment.
· Must have previous professional references.
