The successful candidate will also demonstrate a readiness to partner in working toward cultural competency and toward being a truly equitable and inclusive community.
This teaching position offers the opportunity to implement Arbor’s original math curriculum (please see for details), to integrate that teaching with other disciplines, and to innovate and work creatively.

- A commitment to centering equity and inclusion in the classroom and in the curriculum
- Experience and enthusiasm for connecting mathematics to topics in science and humanities
- A demonstrated ability to build successful educational relationships with middle-grades students and to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
- A demonstrated ability to work successfully in a responsive and collaborative environment in which teachers support one another within and across disciplines
In addition to math instruction, as a member of the middle-grades faculty the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with students in small groups, such as leading students in being stewards of Arbor’s gardens and grounds, and assisting in other classrooms. Facility with classroom and creative technologies, as well as Spanish language skills, is not required but would be a plus.
