What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dishwasher position at Arbor Venues?
The purpose of the dishwasher is to clean all dirty dishware/equipment that is used during events and to help maintain a clean, safe and organized space for all back-of-house staff.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up dishwashing station upon arrival–this includes, but is not limited to; setting up the ‘dump bucket’ with strainer for liquids, filling a bin for silverware with sanitizing liquid/soap, fill three basin sink with hot soapy water, organize all empty racks and place in pit accordingly, check trash bins and empty, if needed.
- During event, scrub dishes and remove debris from any/all dishware before putting into the dishware.
- Throughout the shift and at the very end, clean the filter in the dishwasher.
- Restock all china, glassware and silverware once cleaned.
- Follow the end of night closing checklist–this will include items like; cleaning out all debris from the three basin sink, sanitize and cleaning all surfaces, cleaning out dishwasher filter, make sure there is no standing water in sinks, turn off dishwasher, take out all trash and cardboard, put new liners in trash bins, sweep/ mop kitchen floor, etc.
- Complete any special requests/tasks assigned to you from the venue coordinator/event director in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace throughout the duration of the event.
- Ensure that any spills or broken items are cleaned thoroughly and immediately, if necessary.
- Maintain a positive and team-oriented attitude!
Physical Requirements:
- Occasional lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying items that weigh 25-50 pounds
- Constant walking or standing for up to 8 hours
- Night and weekend availability
- Reliable transportation to all three locations
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
