Job Overview :
We're looking for motivated and eager individuals to join our team as Union Trainee 1 employees. This entry-level role provides the foundation for a fulfilling career in vegetation management. As a Union Trainee 1, you'll develop essential skills and knowledge while assisting experienced crew members in the field. This role focuses on hands-on training, safety, and teamwork, preparing you for advancement in the vegetation management industry.
Key Responsibilities :
As Union Trainee 1, you'll support our crew with essential tasks, including :
- Assisting with vegetation management activities such as learning to use chainsaws for bucking and limbing and operating a chipper.
- Performing routine vehicle and equipment inspections and basic maintenance.
- Setting up job sites, handling debris cleanup, and conducting temporary traffic control.
- Supporting climbers or bucket operators from the ground and acting as a spotter.
- Communicating with customers, completing post-work inspections, and participating in ongoing training.
- Developing skills in rigging, tying knots and hitches, and setting ropes with a throw line.
- Demonstrating progress in the Line Clearance Qualification Program (LCQP Book).
