Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Equipment Operator to join our team. This role involves operating specialized machinery, including cranes, spider lifts, and log trucks, to support tree care operations such as pruning, removals, and material transport. The ideal candidate will have experience with heavy equipment and a strong understanding of safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate cranes, spider lifts, and log trucks to assist in tree care operations, including pruning, removals, and debris handling.
- Ensure all equipment is operated safely and efficiently, in compliance with ANSI and OSHA standards.
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and minor repairs on assigned equipment to ensure functionality and safety.
- Collaborate with climbers, groundsmen, and crew leaders to execute job plans effectively.
- Safely transport and load logs, branches, and other materials as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including proper storage and handling of equipment.
- Provide support during job site setup and breakdown.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating cranes, spider lifts, and log trucks (certifications preferred).
- Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
- Strong understanding of load management, rigging, and safety protocols.
- Ability to perform minor equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with tree care operations and industry standards (preferred).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift heavy materials (50 lbs).
