The Resident Care Director (RCD) is responsible for administration of nursing services. The RCD interprets policy and regulations to all nursing personnel and ensures compliance. The RCD assumes primary responsibility for providing oversight of the resident health care service needs, including the overall medication delivery system and the coordination of in-service training for the resident care services department. The RCD fosters a success-oriented accountable environment within the nursing department that provides the highest quality care and services.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for the quality of resident care within the community
-
Assess and evaluate resident issues and medical concerns as needed and coordinates with other service providers, ancillary services to ensure proper care

Provide competency training for all resident care aides with return demonstration.

Serve as a liaison to families/designated representatives, health care agencies, emergency response teams, hospitals, and rehabilitation centers

Conduct initial and on-going Resident assessments

Directly supervise Resident Care personnel in the building

Provide first aid as needed

Responsible for RCA recruitment, selection, new employee orientation, and ongoing in-service education in accordance with company policies and regulations

Assume on call responsibilities per schedule
Requirements:
For MA:
-
Must have a current, Massachusetts Registered Nurse License in good standing.

Must have knowledge of aging and disability issues.

Must have 1-year verifiable experience in Home Care or Assisted Living.
For CT:

Must have a current, Connecticut Registered Nurse License in good standing and one of the following:
-
Baccalaureate degree in nursing and a minimum of two (2) years full time or full time equivalent clinical experience in nursing, at least one (1) of which shall be in a home health care agency or community health program that included care of the sick at home; or

A diploma or associate degree in nursing and at least four (4) years full time or full time equivalent clinical experience in nursing within the past ten (10) years, at least one (1) year of which shall be in a home health care agency or community health program that included care of the sick at home.
