Summary: Respectfully provide all aspects of quality
imaging and patient care. Responsible
for the day to day operations of the radiology department. To maintain open
communication with patients and other departments within the hospital. To work
towards the department mission in support of the hospital mission.
Qualifications:
- Supports and enforces infection control policies and procedures.
- Maintains discretion and confidentiality in communications.
- Knowledgeable about policies and procedures regarding reporting and release of protected health information (PHI).
- Knowledgeable of imaging creation and archival – all imaging X-ray and ultrasound equipment, DR, PACS, hard copies, remote access stations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work to maintain team member compliance of all radiology procedures.
- Evaluates images and techniques used.
- Respond immediately to urgent needs as designed.
- Responsible for assisting with smooth patient flow.
- Introduce yourself to patient, verify patient’s identity, and explain what you will be doing.
- Safely transport and/or assist patients to and from the imaging areas.
- Perform x-rays as requested by providers, accurately and safely while maintaining full awareness of patient comfort.
- Ensure images are sent to PACS.
- Monitor X-ray equipment for proper operation; report any technical difficulties to management.
- Attend Continuing Education classes as required.
- Maintain acceptable standards of patient treatment.
- Perform radiological exams on patients in a timely manner and professional manner.
- Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility.
- Accurately and promptly implement provider’s orders.
- Maintains a professional approach with confidential hospital and patient information and ensures safe patient environment.
- Observes and supports hospital policy.
- Keep work area neat and clean.
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned requested or required.
- Maintains certifications and continuing education requirements needed to perform job.
Education and/or Experience:
- ARRTRegistered
- Current CPR certification (BLS)
- 1 year diagnostic experience, preferred
- 1 year CT, preferred
Language/Reading Skills:
- Communicate verbally and in writing in English.
- Legible hand writing is required.
Reasoning Ability:
- Responds to unusual or varied situation that are not covered by existing standards, procedures and precedents.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, possess ability to handle objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds from the floor to waist and may occasionally be required to lift 50 pounds from the floor to waist level. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to clearly focus vision.
- Employee must be able to assist and transfer patients from gurney and wheelchair.
