Inclusion Aid - Elementary, Middle or High School Programs
A qualified applicant will naturally possess a positive, professional disposition to help our school sites run effectively. This individual will be solutions-oriented and willing to pitch in where necessary to keep our school site on track to achieve organizational goals.
Essential Functions:
- Inclusion Aides encourage child participation in after school activities
- Special education background highly desired
- Experience with the process of including children with special needs in an after school program is highly desired
- Interact and foster a positive relationship with student to ensure that the student feels welcomed in the program
- Practice proper attendance procedures by signing student in and out of the after school program, ensuring all attendance records are in compliance with arc's requirements
- Develop lesson plans for enrichment activities
- Develop and facilitate homework completion activities and supplemental learning activities that align with school day academic expectations
- Provide academic support by working with student through homework help or supplemental learning activities
- Demonstrate leadership and a commitment to educating and empowering youth to reach their full potential
- Have the ability to work with a group of 20 or more students
- Have basic knowledge of age appropriate classroom and behavior management skills
- Be responsible, energetic, and creative individuals
Required Skills, knowledge and Abilities:

Special education, child or youth development background
- Solid after school programming skills garnered from 1 years of relevant experience
- Ability to provide constant student supervision
- Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of staff
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated professional attitude, approach, and commitment to integrity
- Must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Commitment to working toward the common goal of helping to provide experiential education to underserved young people at our various programs
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Availability to work set school programming hours, typically 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Monday - Friday, adjusted as necessary to meet program demands
- Availability to report to work between the hours of 11:30 AM - 2:00 PM for early dismissal, only if assigned program site requires it
- Experience working with youth in grades K - 12
- Experience working in after school programs or youth recreational facilities
- Experience in working with ethnic and culturally diverse communities
- Desire to work outdoors with students
- Energetic, motivated, outgoing personalities strongly desired
- Experience of marketing events to students with creativity and clarity
- Bilingual preferred
The Inclusion Aide position is part-time, non-exempt. This position reports directly to the Site Coordinator of the school site they are placed at.
Upon a job offering being made, a candidate for employment must complete and submit results for the following requirements within the defined period provided to you by Human Resources:
- Official or Unofficial College Transcripts that confirms 48 college credit units completed or Pass Score on district exam / academic proficiency exam
- Negative TB Test Result
- Pass Live Scan Clearance (Background check) in compliance with applicable federal and state laws
- Current CPR Certification adult, child and infant
