What a typical day for a Site Coordinator is like:
- Plan, organize, and oversee daily afterschool programs and activities that align with the organization's mission and student needs.
- Ensure programs are engaging, age-appropriate, and promote academic, social, and emotional development.
- Recruit, train, and manage afterschool program staff and volunteers.
- Develop staff schedules, assign duties, and conduct regular performance evaluations.
- Provide ongoing professional development and training to enhance staff effectiveness.
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students.
- Address student behavior issues in a positive and constructive manner, following organizational guidelines.
- Monitor student attendance and engagement, addressing concerns with parents and school staff as needed.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to share updates on student progress and program activities.
- Maintain accurate records, including attendance, incident reports, and program evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with state and local regulations, including licensing and safety requirements.
- Develop and manage the program's budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Oversee program setup, including materials, space, and equipment.
- Coordinate transportation and meals/snacks for students as needed.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the afterschool program, representing the organization positively to all stakeholders.
To qualify for this position, you will need:
- 3 years’ experience in after-school programming operations and administrative skills.
- To be a good communicator, able to talk to kids, parents, and teachers comfortably, a problem solver, a team player, and a good listener.
- Ability to supervise and support staff without constant direction.
- Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of staff.
- Professional attitude, commitment to integrity, confidentiality, and professional discretion.
- Proven ability to solve problems, make decisions, and resolve conflicts.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and common operating systems.
- College transcripts that show you have 48 college credit units completed OR you take and pass an academic proficiency exam.
- To get a TB test (and provide proof that it is negative), pass a Live Scan background check, and have a current vaccination for Covid 19.
- You will be required to take CPR and first aid training or provide proof that you have been certified within 12 months.
- English - Spanish bilingual speaker highly preferred.
The Site Coordinator position is full-time, non-exempt, and benefits eligible. This position reports to the Regional Manager.
