Job Title: Mold Polisher

Shift: Rotating 8 hour shift

Department: Mold Shop

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

SUMMARY

The Mold Polisher’s role consists of polishing molds, plungers and other various types of mold equipment. They prepare equipment for use in fabrication, disassemble and assemble various types of Press and STF/H28s equipment as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

• Transport and supply good quality mold equipment to the Production department in a timely manner
• Return all mold equipment from the Production department to the Mold Shop after use or as needed
• Count and record all incoming molds for the shift
• Ensure that all job change mold equipment is returned to the Mold Shop to avoid mistakes in production
• Disassembling, cleaning, organizing and distributing of fabrication mold equipment to the proper areas
• Set up all equipment necessary to perform the daily tasks
• Polish mold equipment using various types of abrasive materials, utilizing either rotary or hand polishing method
• Lifting and mounting the mold equipment onto a polishing chuck (rotary method)
• Cleaning of mold envelopes, if necessary, reassembling the various parts of the mold as needed and transporting the equipment to the quality control area for inspection.
• Relocating bins of mold equipment to various locations within the shop

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Ability to work with hand tools

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Prior experience in a Mold Shop environment preferred

• High school diploma or equivalent

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Able to work in high temperatures
• Bending/crouching on a daily basis
• Able to lift or maneuver up to 100 lb. molds
• Use ladder to reach high areas
• Able to work on rotating shift with overtime when necessary (sometimes with little notice)

Pay: $19.47 - $22.21 per hour
