Description
Responsible for the development and installation of manufacturing equipment and processes. Directing engineering staff, utilizing engineering and technical knowledge to design, improve, optimize manufacturing processes and systems and equipment specifications. Managing equipment vendors/builders and ensuring on time on budget equipment installation and new product launches. Responsible for conducting continual improvement studies and tests for manufacturing. Supports Maintenance in machine repair and problem resolution as required. Will train, supervise, or give direction to lower-level engineers and technicians.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
General
1. Takes on overall responsibilities for manufacturing system and process support.
2. Prepares facility and equipment capital and directs labor business plans.
3. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Machine/Process Design
1. Responsible for strategic manufacturing process design initiatives.
2. Acts as champion for large capital procurement and implementation initiatives.
Application
1. Acts as lead manufacturing member on new product development team.
2. Provides key contributions to the product design based on product design and application.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably mechanical engineering, plus a minimum of ten (10) years of engineering experience. Must be a recognized expert in one or more specific manufacturing engineering fields with demonstrated ability to plan, direct and supervise complex and large-scale manufacturing engineering projects. Expected interaction in product design projects as the Manufacturing Representative. Six Sigma Black Belt and Lean certification preferred.
