We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and people-focused ‘HR Generalist’ to join our team. You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and skilled in HR best practices. You understand the importance of employee experience and are committed to fostering a productive, inclusive, and collaborative work environment. You are proactive in identifying opportunities to improve workplace engagement, support employee development, and ensure HR processes run efficiently.

Position Overview:

The ‘HR Generalist’ serves as the primary point of contact for day to day HR-related inquiries, ensuring a positive employee experience through onboarding, engagement initiatives, and recognition programs. This role oversees HR compliance, HR systems administration, benefits administration, supports recruitment, and internship coordination. The ‘HR Generalist’ will report to the Controller and support over 55 employees working in 3 different locations including Buffalo, NY, Morristown, NJ, and Philadelphia, PA.

Key Responsibilities:

HR Systems, Compliance, & Planning

  • Manage and maintain HR systems, files, and employee records ensuring data is accurate and current
  • Support 3rd party employee benefits provider with benefits administration, open enrollment, claims, and employee inquiries
  • Oversee the organization and accessibility of HR materials, supporting employees in navigating HR systems and resources effectively.
  • Support annual employee performance review process
  • Support executive and field teams in staffing for upcoming projects
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, updating policies as necessary.


Recruitment & Talent Development

  • Collaborate with hiring managers in developing job descriptions to post non-exempt and non-management positions both internally and externally
  • Assist in sourcing, screening, and coordinating interviews for potential candidates
  • Represent Arc at career fairs and recruitment events, fostering relationships with universities and prospective candidates.
  • Oversight of internship program, supporting the following: recruitment, onboarding, mentorship coordination, and performance evaluations.
  • Facilitate onboarding processes for all newly hired employees, including welcome packet, first-week team meetings to introduce new hires to the leadership team and company culture and sending a personalized introductory email.


HR & Employee Experience

  • Serve as the first point of contact for HR-related inquiries, providing guidance and support.
  • Communicate updates to employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and available resources, ensuring they understand where to find relevant information.
  • Manage and update the Employee Directory (birthdays, phone numbers).
  • Coordinate and execute recognition of employee life events (birthdays, weddings, new babies, retirements)
  • Develop and distribute a Monthly Employee Video Update featuring key updates and achievements.
  • Support Arc Fun Committee meetings and company-wide engagement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5 years in HR administration
  • Communication Skills: Strong ability to interact with employees at all levels and provide clear guidance.
  • Detail-Oriented & Organized: Capable of managing multiple priorities while ensuring accuracy.
  • Technology Proficiency: Microsoft Office Suite, experience working with HRIS software, IT support tools,
  • Problem-Solving Ability: A proactive approach to identifying and resolving workplace challenges.
  • Culture Champion: A commitment to fostering a positive, engaging, and supportive work environment.


Compensation:

  • $65,000 - $75,000 - commensurate with experience.
