Position Overview:
The Electrical Estimator / Sales Representative is the first point of contact for inbound sales inquiries related to residential solar and electrical work. This role involves visiting potential jobs, creating detailed and accurate estimates, scheduling work, communicating with customers throughout the project, collecting payments, and working closely with the Project Manager to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle inbound sales calls and respond to inquiries regarding solar, battery storage, and residential electrical work.
- Visit customer sites to assess job requirements and create professional estimates for:
- New construction electrical work
- Solar system installations
- Battery storage systems
- Electrical service work and repairs
- Communicate estimates, timelines, and expectations clearly with customers.
- Schedule jobs and coordinate with the Project Manager and field teams.
- Maintain regular communication with customers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collect deposits and final payments from customers.
- Track and follow up on open proposals and sales leads.
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and professionalism at all times.
- Assist the Project Manager in keeping projects on schedule and within budget.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in electrical estimating, sales, or a related field (residential experience preferred).
- Strong knowledge of residential electrical systems, solar systems, and battery storage.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Skills:
- Prior experience with CRM software.
- Knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code) standards.
- Basic understanding of permitting and inspection processes.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
