What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Appointment Coordinator (MAC) - Oakfield NY position at Arc GLOW?
Our Medical Appointment Coordinators provide daily support to individuals with developmental disabilities within the home setting. Working with a team, DSPs assist with daily living skills, personalized goals, arts and crafts, games, sensory activities, and accompany on outings in the community. Starting pay is $20.25 an hour for part time and full time positions.
Shift Differentials:
Weekends: $2/hour
Overnights: $3/hour
Evenings: $.50/hour

We are a parent and family driven organization that empowers and supports people of all ages with a broad spectrum of emotional, intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our residential locations cover the four counties in the GLOW region, providing supports and services to over 150 people.

WHAT WOULD I BE DOING?
- Responsible for assisting people supported in receiving needed/desired medical services and communicating and documenting pertinent information as per program policy (i.e., medication administration, transportation to appointments).
- Ensures an adequate amount of medication is on site for each individual at all times.
- Provides communication to residential site staff to ensure physician and clinical orders are understood and followed.
- Makes recommendation to the RN and/or Health Care provider to maintain and/or improve the overall health and wellness of individuals supported.
- Completes required paperwork on daily / as needed basis.
- Provides direct support as needed.
- Provide transportation to appointments with agency vehicles.
- Use various software platforms for specific job functions.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A MEDICAL APPOINTMENT COORDINATOR:
- A valid NYS driver's license with an acceptable driving record, per agency policy, and reliable transportation to and from work is required.
- Excellent communication skills.
- The physical ability to transfer and lift people with mobility restraints.
- The drive to help others with personal goals and work in a team environment.
- The ability to efficiently use a computer.
