Overview
We are a manufacturing company with a 40-year history seeking experienced manual lathe operator (machinist). The right candidate will have experience turning cylindrical parts of varying diameters and lengths. Experience in doing repair work on cylinder journals would be a plus. Utilization of standard measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators are required.
We offer a climate-controlled manufacturing facility with a very stable work environment. A standard benefit package including medical, dental, vision, 401K. paid holidays and paid vacation. Pay would be commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
- Proficiency in operating manual lathe, including indicating, set-up manual measurements
- Blueprint reading and interpretation & precision measurements. Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints to ensure precise manufacturing of cyclers
- Skilled in using measurement tools like calipers, micrometers to verify accuracy and quality
- Time management - Efficient time management to meet production needs
- Safety awareness- knowledge and practice of safety protocols and to maintain a safe working environment
- Trouble shooting, tool knowledge and machine maintenance
