This is temporary F/T position from May 15th to August 5th.
Summary of Job Functions:
As a Job Coach/Supervisor, your role oversees daily operations in The Arc's Summer Work Program. Key responsibilities include conducting morning meetings, preparing students for off-site jobs, and facilitating daily briefings on job sites. You'll also coordinate transportation, handle inquiries, and maintain program documentation.
In addition to logistical coordination, you'll support administrative tasks, ensuring accurate completion of paperwork and collaborating with mentors and supervisors. Your role includes mentoring students in career planning, resume building, and skill development. Effective communication, strong organization, and adaptability are essential for success in this role.
Essential Job Functions:
- Conduct daily meetings with students at 8:00 AM in The Arc Large Family Room.
- Ensure prompt attendance of students in the Arc Family Room for preparation before their off-site job.
- Instruct and review work maturity skills with students.
- Conduct daily briefings to discuss the day's job site or activity, including rules, policies, and regulations specific to that job site.
- Monitor and ensure daily sign-in/out on the designated sheet.
- Check in individually with students to confirm readiness and preparation for the particular job site scheduled for that day.
- Ensure students have the necessary safety vests, materials, tools, or clothing for the job.
- Review and communicate housekeeping rules, safety guidelines, bathroom locations, lunch breaks, and on-site lunch details or instructions for bringing their own lunch.
- Coordinate the loading of students onto the bus, departing no later than 8:45 AM for the job site.
- Responsively handle inquiries from individuals, employers, and peer mentors.
- Regularly check in with the peer mentor to ensure smooth operations, collaboratively address issues, and seek guidance from Cathy to ensure correct solutions.
- Load students on the bus by 4:00 PM for the return to The Arc Large Family Room.
- Ensure accurate completion of daily time cards by students before leaving for the day.
- Recognize and praise students for a job well done; conduct reflection sessions with students, debriefing to discuss preferences, challenges, and guidelines.
- Remind students to promptly report to work the next day no later than 8:00 AM and dismiss them for the day.

- Documentation Skills: Proficient in maintaining accurate records, including time cards, evaluation forms, and required paperwork.

- Safety Protocols: Familiarity with safety procedures, including proper use of safety gear, with the ability to enforce guidelines on job sites.
- Organization: Adept at organizing and coordinating daily schedules for punctual departures and returns.
- Problem Solving: Skilled in addressing inquiries, resolving issues collaboratively with mentors, and seeking guidance when necessary.
- Documentation: Proficient in documenting and reporting praise, reflection reports, and maintaining comprehensive records.
- Time Management: Effective time management skills to ensure timely completion of paperwork and daily tasks.
- Leadership: Demonstrate the ability to lead and guide students effectively, fostering a positive and productive working environment.
- Collaboration: Strong collaborative abilities with mentors, peers, and supervisors to address challenges and implement effective solutions.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing circumstances, address unforeseen issues, and ensure smooth daily operations.
- Mentoring: Skillful in assisting students with career planning, resume building, and overall skill development.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Certificate in employment services preferred
- One-year experience working with people who experience developmental disabilities strongly preferred
Clearances:
- Background checks as defined by licensing agencies.
- Current TB test/clearance.
Physical Requirements:
- Lifting ten to twenty-five pounds
- Ability to see and hear within normal parameters
- Adaptability to a fast-paced environment which includes standing and walking for prolonged periods of time.
