Arc of Onondaga is looking to hire people interested in and/or those with experience as caregivers, Home Health Aides, direct care providers, Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), Personal Care Assistants, and those interested in the Human Services field to provide support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. DSPs provide hands-on assistance, instruction and guidance to individuals in various settings. If you are looking for a rewarding career, this is the role for you!
Responsibilities:
Work with individuals to plan, coordinate and participate in social, recreational, and community activities.
Provide care and support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a home setting.
Assist the people you support to direct the course of their own lives, promoting advocacy, self-confidence, and independence.
Support the emotional, physical, and personal well-being of the people receiving support.
Assist the people you support with their daily tasks and routines.
Support individuals in learning life skills related to all aspects of their lives including money management, shopping, and tasks required to maintain a home.
Assist individuals with personal care and hygiene as needed.
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent
Be at least 18 years of age or older
A valid NYS driver's license (Preferred)
