This seasonal role is full-time Monday - Friday (9 am – 4 pm) and will run from June 9, 2025 until August 2, 2024. Training for Support Staff will be June 2-6th, and Assistant Training will be May 28-30th.
What you will do:
The program comprises of two roles:
Support Staff - $18/hour
- Provide 1:1 or 1:2 support to individuals (13 – 20 years old) with developmental disabilities in 2-3 daily volunteer, educational, and/or work experiences (e.g. thrift store or local park) to improve decision making, independence, self-awareness, and self-expression.
- Assists participants with researching work sites in the St. Louis metro area, resume creation, and modeling work and social skills.
- Help expose the individuals to new experiences and encourage them to recognize their own interests and abilities to achieve their goals.
- Assists the individuals when needed with personal care and daily living skills, including, but not limited to, assistance with dressing, eating, changing undergarments/clothing, transferring, communication, and use of the restroom.
Assistant - $22/hour
- Complete the Support Staff duties listed above.
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the programs such as managing driving logs, handling petty cash, and troubleshooting staff or participant issues.

What we expect of you:
The flexible, enthusiastic individual we see is full of dedication and compassion with these qualifications:
- At least 18 years old with three years of driving experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Some college course work in special education, social work, occupational therapy, recreation, health or human services is preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs from floor to shoulder and walk and/or stand for extended periods of time (up to 4 hours)
- Reliable vehicle (4 seat belts and working heating/cooling) to transport individuals — valid driver’s license and auto insurance at time of hire.
- Ability to pass criminal background checks (MO Family Care Safety Registry and Motor Vehicle)
