Position Summary:
As a key manager at the plant site, this role is responsible for directing all operational activities of production, quality, warehouse, and maintenance departments. Responsible for manufacturing glass while meeting safety, operations, and quality goals. The main focus is to evaluate individual equipment and processes to optimize utilization of equipment, minimize make ready and downtime, and improve line speeds, reduce waste and continuously improve standards for operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensures a Safe Working Environment by leading the team through a culture change and safety improvements throughout the facility. Key individual responsible for plant’s Lock Out Tag Out procedure.
- Manages and maintains all support systems equipment and operations, including directing repairs. Understands the facility, operations, capabilities of the team, and the impact of repairs.
- Develop and implement projects to streamline operations, improve quality and reduce cost.
- Directs manufacturing in all plant production areas and maintains cooperation between all departments on all shifts.
- Maintains adherence to the plant quality policy, ISO standards, work instructions and client expectations.
- Evaluate current equipment for refurbishment, modification or replacement.
- Directs and supports technical personnel in continuous improvement processes.
- Manages maintenance department operations.
- Oversees Artwork/Screen department, provides directional leadership that includes all levels of documentation, communication along with recommendations to assist the department’s operation.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of B.S. degree in Engineering, or closely related field is required.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a leadership position within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrates technical proficiency in manufacturing role.
- Works cooperatively in a team environment.
- Can meet plant objectives with high-quality work.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
