Position Summary:
Reporting to the Corporate Controller, you will be responsible for supporting global consolidation and financial reporting environment. This position is highly visible throughout the organization and will deal with a broad range of accounting topics. You must have excellent communication skills both verbal and written, with strong analytical, problem solving and research skills. This role works closely with the company’s regional and international finance and leadership teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Taking ownership and manage the consolidation process including group subsidiaries, joint ventures and acquisitions. This involves gathering financial data from various sources, eliminating intercompany transactions and preparing consolidated financial statements.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial reports including income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements in accordance with US GAAP.
- Develop and maintain effective internal controls over financial reporting to mitigate risks and
- prevent errors or fraud.
- Assist in month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities including the preparation of the management report and accompanying schedules.
- For overseas entities, review and understand the differences between statutory financials and financials reported to corporate, coordinate with corporate tax to ensure these differences are properly accounted for in the tax provision/filings.
- Prepare and record consolidation journal entries and reconciliations for month-end closing;
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement, and provide insights to support decision-making by senior management.
- Identify opportunities to streamline the consolidation and reporting processes, implementing automated solutions and improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Completion of requests from external consultants such as Auditors, Tax consultants, and other
- financial advisors.
- Support cash forecasting processes and contribute to the global cash management strategy.
- Conduct accounting research and analyses on an ad hoc basis.
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP).
- Strong analytical and accounting skills.
- Advanced excel skills required.
- Knowledge of OneStream, Hyperion (HFM) or other consolidation tools.
- Working experience in general ledger and financial statements, a plus.
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet tight deadlines.
- Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven
- environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with high level of difficulty.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent from an accredited university required.
- Consolidation & reporting experience required.
- Big four or leading public accounting background preferred.
- 4-6 years of total work experience.
- CPA preferred.
