Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Starter/Marshal to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and enjoyment of guests at our resort. This position requires strong conflict management skills, excellent customer service abilities, and a passion for hospitality. The Starter/Marshal will be responsible for managing the flow of play and is an aide and assistant to the players to help things run smoothly on the course.
Duties:
- Monitor guest activities to ensure safety and compliance with Club policies.
- Ensure that the pace of play is reasonable and reduce distractions to maintain pace of play
- Locate and protect errant golf balls (or gently suggest they give up the search to keep the pace of play going)
- Search for opportunities to care for the course, i.e. repairing a ball mark or filling a divot
- Seek to mediate any disputes and communicate to the clubhouse any problems with players, carts, or grounds
- Provide assistance to guests, answering questions and offering information about Club amenities and activities
- Work collaboratively with other staff members to enhance the overall guest experience.
- Ensure that all areas of the resort are clean, safe, and welcoming for guests.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Conflict management skills with the ability to handle challenging situations effectively.
- A positive attitude and a commitment to providing exceptional service in a Club environment.
- Previous customer service experience is preferred
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly, professional temperament
- Ability to multi-task with ease
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
- Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, speak and hear
- Regular exposure to heat, humidity, cold, wind and/or rain is expected
- Ability to frequently reach, bend and stoop
