Summary
The Server Assistant position is responsible for resetting the dining room & ensuring tables have complete place settings, directly assisting servers with section maintenance throughout service as well as keeping the server assistant station adequately stocked for efficiency.
This position actively interacts with guests during all dining times and functions. The Dining Room operates 3 high volume meal periods, 7 days a week from April through November. This position is seasonal.
Responsibilities
- Bussing & resetting tables throughout service, including large parties
- Ensuring complete & polished place settings at every table, every reset
- Warmly greeting & watering tables as they are seated, informing the guests their server will be with them momentarily
- Assist servers by running food, clearing tables, replacing silverware as needed for the next course, boxing leftovers, removing trays from sections, and cleaning any spillage or breakage in the dining room
- Assist servers with polishing silverware & glassware
- Observe tables & take note of clean, dirty & occupied tables
- Assist the host/hostess by helping to seat guests as they arrive
- Assisting with overall cleanliness of floors & chairs in the dining room
- Check the bathrooms for cleanliness & stock supplies every 30 minutes
- Stocking table linens, silverware & glassware in the server assistant station
- Removing full linen bags & replacing them with empty linen bags
- Sorting stained table linens for credit
- Maintain a composed, professional & calm attitude always

- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail

- Ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Must be able to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to be on feet for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
