Job Summary
The primary purpose of the Assisted Living (AL) Resident/Tenant Assistant is to provide residents/tenants in the facility with nursing and personal care under the supervision of the Wellness Director, and to safeguard the health, safety, and welfare of all residents/tenants of the facility, in accordance with the facility’s established policies and procedures and applicable laws and regulations, and the directions your supervisors
Essential Functions
The primary purpose of the Assisted Living (AL) Resident/Tenant Assistant is to provide residents/tenants in the facility with nursing and personal care under the supervision of the Wellness Director, and to safeguard the health, safety, and welfare of all residents/tenants of the facility, in accordance with the facility’s established policies and procedures and applicable laws and regulations, and the directions your supervisors
Essential Functions
- Carry out assignments for resident/tenant care including (but not limited to): bathing, dressing, grooming, shaving, restorative nursing procedures, and retraining.
- Report and record any changes in resident/tenant conditions and needs, i.e., eating habits, behavior, temperature, etc.
- Be responsible for the well-being and nursing care of all residents/tenants assigned while on duty.
- Keep residents’/tenants’ bed, dresser, bathroom, and general living area clean and tidy.
- Assure that work/assignment areas are clean and free of hazardous conditions, i.e. spills, excess laundry carts, baskets, supplies, etc. and that equipment, tools, supplies, etc. are properly stored while working, as well as before leaving such areas for breaks, mealtimes, and end of the workday.
- Maintain the confidentiality of resident/tenant information and honor his/her personal and property rights.
- Perform tasks as assigned in individual Service Plans.
- Follow facility policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor
- Must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must be free from communicable diseases/Tuberculosis.
- Must have proof of Certification of Pulmonary Resuscitation or be willing to obtain prior to working independently in the facility.
- Must demonstrate the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must demonstrate the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
- Must demonstrate the ability and willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel.
- Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, the appearance of work areas, and perform regular inspections of resident care areas and equipment for sanitation, order, safety, and proper performance of assigned duties.
