POSITION OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE
The Staff Accountant will assist with general accounting functions including journal entries, cash application, accounts payable, reconciliations, and month-end close. This entry-level position will provide exposure to various aspects of the accounting cycle and offer opportunities for professional development and career growth within the organization. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and has a basic understanding of accounting principles.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
Apply cash receipts to customer accounts
Process vendor bills into our Accounts Payable system
Assist in preparing journal entries in the general ledger.
Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and intercompany transactions.
Support the month-end and year-end close process, including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting.
Collaborate with other departments to gather information and resolve accounting discrepancies.
Maintain accurate and organized records, including supporting documentation for journal entries and transactions.
Perform ad hoc analyses and tasks as assigned by the Accounting Manager or senior team members.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree in accounting or related area, or equivalent experience required
2 years of accounting or related experience preferred (internship experience acceptable).
Basic knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software (experience with NetSuite is a plus).
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Eagerness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.
