JOB SUMMARY:
The Saw Operator is responsible for safe operation of band saw equipment to efficiently and accurately cut high quality parts according to customer specifications and AMG procedures.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safely operates band saw equipment to cut metal parts according to work orders, blueprints, operating manuals, training materials, and quality control procedures.
- Selects and installs the appropriate blades and machine configuration depending on materials being cut.
- Tracks needed materials for jobs and ensures all parts and materials are properly marked.
- Inspects parts for cut, quality, quantity and dimensional accuracy including length and angles. This is accomplished by using basic measurement equipment including but not limited to tape measures, calipers, and protractors.
- Performs basic preventative maintenance on saw equipment.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions; communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other lifting devices.
- Knowledge of and ability to identify various materials, especially metals.
- Ability to safely operate a variety of assigned powered tools and equipment.
- Ability to read blueprints and use basic inspection tools.
- Ability to accurately use precision measuring tools in omperial and metric units
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate quantities of parts, lengths of parts and measure angles. Ability to apply concepts of geometry.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
